Best Historic Restaurants in Smithtown

Went to Insignia for a belated Valentine's Day dinner with my wife and had a great experience. The service was five-star. Our waiter was beyond friendly and a consummate professional. We tried two different appetizers (stone cooked Wagyu and West coast oysters) which were incredible and served with amazing accompaniments. We both had different steak cuts for entrees which were cooked to perfection. Drinks were on point and the creme brulee and cappuccino were both among the best we have ever had. Do yourself a favor and reserve Insignia for your next special occasion!

We were celebrating a special occasion and had a wonderful time. The hostess brought us 2 champagne flutes which we felt was very thoughtful. Our server, Reina was an absolute joy. In fact everyone who serviced our table was friendly. The food was delicious as always, from appetizer to dessert. We tried new menu items this time and they did not disappoint.

I’ve always loved that place . We have been going there since my kids were babies.

Unfortunately, for Valentines Day, it wasn’t the quiet romantic atmosphere we had hoped for. There was a very loud group with a baby and small child at a corner table in our room of otherwise couples.

Food was excellent, but more importantly the staff was wonderful as they were extremely helpful with my mom, who has difficulty walking and uses a walker, navigating in and out of the restaurant. Very appreciative.
