The Manhattan iteration of the Brooklyn based pizzeria centered around a historic brick oven and comforting food. Emily has earned a following for its signature Detroit-style pies and award winning burger. The pizza here is rectangular (not round) and utilizes the "frico" technique, in which cheese is drizzled on the edges of the pie to create a crispy brown exterior. Beyond the main event, the menu extends to include salads and sandwiches, which shouldn't be ignored (think an attention-grabbing burger and a top-notch spicy fried chicken sandwich). Honestly the best birthday Meal I have had. The food was amazing and well proportioned. The restaurant itself was breathtakingly beautiful, very demure. And the best part was Dion, our waiter. He was exceptionally polite and charismatic. What a beautiful person and what an amazing experience. I will definitely be going again next time im in NY.

The Monterrey has a great Friday-Saturday offer on prime rib, and that was what we were seeking. What is more NYC than a classic prime rib? Lovely ambiance, great decor, lovely service. Would recommend. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a great steakhouse.
