A typical food love story. A boy meets a girl while eating pizza. He attends culinary school and open’s a pizza restaurant named after the girl. Thus bringing us to Emily! The Manhattan iteration of the Brooklyn based pizzeria centered around a historic brick oven and comforting food. Emily has earned a following for its signature Detroit-style pies and award winning burger. The pizza here is rectangular (not round) and utilizes the "frico" technique, in which cheese is drizzled on the edges of the pie to create a crispy brown exterior. Beyond the main event, the menu extends to include salads and sandwiches, which shouldn't be ignored (think an attention-grabbing burger and a top-notch spicy fried chicken sandwich). Dining at The Leopard at des Artistes is an experience in elegance. From the European murals on the walls to the exquisite Zabaione dessert, you are in the hands of supreme restaurant masters. The food is beautifully prepared and presented, the waitstaff attentive without being hovering, constantly taking their cues from the table and your needs. Our waitperson, Andrea, was right out of an Italian movie, both stunning and alert, with a sparkle in her eye and a slight hint of humor in her charmingly accented dialogue. All in all, I shall return again and again. I suspect the dining experience will repeat itself with ease. How wonderful! The best high-end dining in Manhattan.
