The weekend wine dinner included Prosecco or martini while you’re waiting for the table which was a nice touch. The food was outstanding and our waiter Sam was delightful with stories of serving many famous people over the last 25+ years. It was an enjoyable dining experience.

Today, a colleague and I enjoyed our 25th ? (there about) annual holiday lunch in the Saloon at the Oyster Bar. As always, we split a dozen of the tastiest oysters you can find and followed with a splendid piece of fish. He enjoyed a perfectly prepared Monk Fish and I a most wonderfully grilled Bronzino with the consistently delicious vegetable medley. We don't go for value (hard to find at $35+ for a standard lunch entree) but for a scrumptious meal, wonderful ambiance, attentive wait staff and our annual chat.

Tucked into Central Park, Tavern on the Green was the perfect holiday experience to round out our Christmas in NYC trip! Cozy and festive decor paired with impeccable service and delectable food makes this a “must try” for anyone looking to soak in the magic that is Christmas in New York! I highly recommend the honey roasted fig appetizer and the pan seared scallop entree.
