Best Historic Restaurants in Shipton

Fantastic place with a great atmosphere and lovely decor. We went because we had heard about the steak pie and can say, wholeheartedly, it lived up to all expectations. Delicious food.

The only reason they haven't got 5 throughout is because the table for two is far too small to fit the food on the table. They had to put our drinks on the bannister around us. Which reqlly wasn't ideal. Otherwise the food was delicious and the staff was perfect.

Went with two friends and my wife to have lunch at the Refectory. There was a large noisy party of ladies so we asked to be moved which the staff were only too happy to do. Main courses were duck confit, chicken wellington and risotto. The risotto was a bit salty but everything else was delicious. Desserts were hedgerow sundae, petit fours and raspberry mousse. Overall a good experience and I would go again.

Family night out for start to Xmas. Easy to reserve table on internet, we turned up a bit early so went for a drink in bar. That was a little more noisier but not too bad. Shown to table in the ‘Snug’ where it was much quieter and food orders taken quite quickly. Food comes owed to order so took a while to arrive but it was worth it, the food was piping hot, well presented and tasted lovely Will definately go back again
