Sakura was established in 2009 as the first Japanese restaurant in Portsmouth. Since our opening night we have always strived to bring the taste of true Japanese cuisine to our customers, while adding friendly service, knowledge and a lot of enthusiasm for what we do.We have retained a lot of the features that made our restaurant popular in the Southsea area.     Second time eating at The Kara and it was as good as the first time. A warm welcome awaits when you arrive and it continues through your night. Cocktails are really good quality and reasonably priced and the food is incredible. Large portions which you can share and enjoy more authentic Mediterranean flavours. Service is quick and professional and the live singer and DJ later make it a fun place to be. Can’t wait to go back again soon.

    We were served by Luke, he was energetic and very accommodating. He was confident about the menu and made us feel like we made good choices which we did because yummmmm! He was attentive when serving our bottle of wine also making sure we were always topped up. 10/10 service from Luke! The music was a little loud for our taste as we had to shout quite a bit, but it didn’t ruin the evening. Will defo be back! Thank you.

    Beautiful fresh food in a quiet yet buzzy atmosphere. The service and food were exemplary and for a 50th birthday meal it couldn't have been more perfect!

    It was good to go on a less busy night, sometimes it’s very noisy particularly at the weekends. Food always good and staff attentive.
