We’ve long loved Canary Wharf and it's rich history of the nearby Docklands and Billingsgate Market, yet Blacklock in a glass tower never quite fit. One look at an old disused warehouse nestled cosily in the corner of Canary Wharf underneath the train tracks of the North Dock and we knew we had found home. Hawksmoor Wood Wharf is housed in an eco-friendly floating pavilion in a new riverside neighbourhood in Canary Wharf. Gently rising and falling with the tide, the main restaurant at dock-level is joined by a 120-seat waterside bar. Both include terraces with views across the water (squint your eyes and you might just see the ghosts of great ships laden with mighty lengths of timber that used to swing in and unload there). There's also a private dining room for up to 20 people named after the local legend Queenie Watts, a singer, songwriter, actor and self-confessed bawdy landlady (think Peggy Mitchell meets Joni Mitchell). The quality of the food was substandard for the price you pay you don't get much for your money, the fish wasn't the freshest and the dragon roll was not a full size portio, and was supermarket standard quality, Not the type of quality you would be expecting to pay for in a hot spot location in London.

We were greeted at the front and our coats were taken by a friendly staff. We got sat immediately due to our reservation, our server brought us waters and help us with understanding the menu. We got the All In Sunday Roast which was absolutely amazing. The meat was tender, the vegetables full of flavor and the gravy was the icing on the cake and we finished dinner with the white chocolate cheesecake and the bread and butter pudding with ice cream. The overall experience was amazing and would recommend to anyone look to enjoy an English Sunday roast.

We had an amazing time. The staff were fantastic and the food was excellent as usual. We had a delay with the steaks and still they managed to accommodate us and prepare the food in time for us. They were very good. I love this Hawksmoor.

Ollie and the team at the Garrison pulled out all the stops for my wife’s Birthday. I changed our plans a couple of times and Ollie went above and beyond to make sure the night was a good one. Honestly can’t recommend enough - thank you guys! Food, ambiance, service - all 5 star!
