- MMoriahPortland / Oregon •6 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoHighly recommend. My husband and I spend part of every summer visiting Greece, in the Aegean. Our recent meal at Kokkari transported us back there for the evening. We had the roasted beets with skordalia, a seasonal citrus salad, the taramasalata, and the grilled fish with horta. Everything was fresh, delicious, seasonal, and exquisitely well executed. But I think what really distinguishes this meal, and so often Greek cuisine, is its simplicity. In this case, we couldn't stop raving about the beets and skordalia! Also, their wine list includes a number of greek wines that are difficult to find, especially on the West Coast. Lastly, their exceptional service made this experience truly memorable. Everyone made us feel so welcome, and happy to be there. They really captured the essence of Greek hospitality. Thank you for the xenia!More infoKokkari EstiatorioPrice: Expensive• Mediterranean• Financial District / Embarcadero•4.9

The cocktails were great and they have an extensive wine list. The food was delectable, unusual yet usual pairings kept us intrigued and excited for each new dish. Overall, would highly recommend!More infoThe ProgressPrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary American• Western Addition•4.8

- CChristineVIPSan Francisco Bay Area •62 reviews4.0Dined 2 days agoWe loved the fun vibe and the beautiful view of the Bay Bridge, but we were a little disappointed in the food this time. The oysters were fabulous, but the squid appetizer that our Waiter recommended was only so so. It tasted too fishy/anchovy strong. My daughter ordered the miso cod, and although she liked it, she said it wasn’t what she expected (needed broth). I ordered the scallop appetizer which was good, but nothing special. My husband ordered the duck and he was happy with his selection. We’ve enjoyed some fabulous dinners at Waterbar, but we probably won’t be coming back anytime soon.More infoWaterbarPrice: Expensive• Seafood• Financial District / Embarcadero•4.6

Always a special treat to celebrate occassions here. Disappointed though they don’t do the complimentary birthday desserts anymore. We ordered desserts but HOPR used to also do a fun little free birthday dessert for the birthday guests.More infoHouse of Prime RibPrice: Very Expensive• Steak• Civic Center / Hayes Valley / Van Ness•4.9
