- DDanielVIPSan Francisco Bay Area •11 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoIt’s been years since I’ve been back to Oneal’s because the last time we went we were so unimpressed we forgot about it…that changed last nite! Boy are we glad we rolled the dice! For starters we had the Dungeness crab cakes. Mind you we are east coast crab cake snobs (nothing beats a Maryland Blue crab jumbo lump crab cake with no filler!)…but last night their is now an official 2nd best crab cake and it can be had at O’Neal’s!!! No filler and a wonderful panko crust with a perfect sauce and watercress greens accompaniment. We will be back just for that alone! But wait there is more!!! My wife had the short rib and loved it and I had the best scallops!!! 3 huge jumbo scallops cooked perfectly over a bed of black rice! The Rombauer Chard is a perfect pairing by the way…Most importantly….we’ll be going back~Great job Chef!!! - MMelodySan Francisco Bay Area •1 review5.0Dined 5 days agoThe eggplant is always superb. Our waitperson was attentive and not intrusive. The courtyard is a favorite but as it was raining, we had the opportunity to admire the decor inside and appreciate the acoustics. Can count on Laili for consistently high-quality food and service!More infoLailiPrice: Moderate• Mediterranean• Santa Cruz•4.7
- CCharlieOrange County •18 reviews4.0Dined on 21 Dec 2024A very solid/reliable spot. My fries were fantastic. Sounds basic but a well executed french fry served in the right way is remarkably uncommon. My burger could have use a bit more mass on the patty and less on the bun but was overall good. My date had the scallops and she seemed to quite enjoy them. Cocktails here are solidly above average. We sat away from the bar and enjoyed a pleasant ambience; lively but not loud, so that we were able to have a conversation easily. For whatever accidental reason we just hadn't been there in a while. We'll be back.More infoOswaldPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Santa Cruz•4.6
