Best Restaurants that are Worth The Drive in Montchanin

Lauren, our server, did an excellent job guiding our decisions on what to order. She gave a very thorough description of the Parsnip Agnolotti and it did not disappoint. Very creative, nicely presented and delicious! The halibut was also very good and not overcooked. The smoked scallop special starter was fabulous and again not overcooked. I get so tired of overcooked fish. The chocolate dessert was amazing. Service attentive and friendly. Ambience very nice and comfortable. Look forward to going back!

We are at Anthony’s weekly and the staff never disappoints. Food is always good. Last time we were there was for my son’s Birthday Dinner. From two people to seven, service is always seamless. Highly recommend Anthony’s! If it’s a casual date or a family dinner Anthony’s is the place to go!

What an unexpected and pleasant surprise this restaurant was, nestled within the old Eagle Tavern. The ambience and decor really aligned with the broader theme of a southern farm to table kitchen. The cocktails were spectacular, especially if you like whiskey, because they have an incredible selection. The sweet potato hush puppies were perfectly fried, and the honey and sauce were delicious. We ordered the short rib and salmon, and the chef was able to make adjustments to the vegetables to address an allergy issue. Both plates were licked completely clean because everything was absolutely delicious. We also got the skillet cornbread and while it was two cut slices on a skillet and not an actual skillet, the flavor was delicious. The only adjustment I would suggest there is the butter was chilled, which made it hard to spread. I wasn’t as excited about the dessert selection but honestly, I didn’t need dessert because the meal was just spectacular. Special shout out to our server, Maddie, who was perfectly attentive without being ever present.
