Cathy Ortega & Gerald Aquintey didn't know what to expect after finally opening up a Filipino small grocery & takeout joint together. The shop was doing great but they wanted to do more. They wanted to give Toronto a much more authentic Filipino taste and experience without the price of a flight to the Philippines. Kamayan / Boodle Fight (the formality of eating with your hands) was the obvious solution.

    Our overall experience with 12 tables was great. Their service is impeccable for the most part. The food was delicious. Loved the sorbet palette cleanser. They also gave us a complimentary birthday dessert which was very sweet. It was a nice touch. Our only disappointment was that we booked a 7.45pm reservation and we were advised that the last call is by 8pm. We felt a bit rushed to order, but even then they weren't pushy by any means. My only suggestion would be to keep the last reservation at 7.30 if they want all orders in by 8. Other than that, it was a fantastic experience and we will definitely come back again.

    Most of our dishes were quite good, except the lentil appetizer which was served cold and tasted like stale bread. Service was friendly but they literally kicked us out of the restaurant at 10pm sharp (turned off the music, brightened the lights and said " we are closed". I mean, I appreciate the staff wants to go home. But it was a bit sudden and dramatic!
