Since 1746, the building that houses this tavern has played a part in the establishment of our nation; first as a respite for stagecoach travelers expanding westward and later as a covert rendezvous point for George Washington, Marquis de Lafayette, and other leaders of the American revolution. It is believed that during the infamous winter of 1777–1778 at Valley Forge, a major figure in the Continental Army, master military mind Friedrich Von Steuben, designated the tavern as a secret black powder munitions stash for Continental Army couriers. All the while, the tavern continued to provide food, shelter and cheer to the hungry, weary soldiers fighting for their independence. Today, we honor our historic tavern’s tradition with a mission to raise the spirits of our guests. Nectar did not disappoint. The Pork Buns and spring rolls were tasty, the sushi was delicious in flavor and texture and the short ribs was excellent Fall comfort food. It is a bit noisy but nothing that ruins the experience.

You'll find truly authentic dim sum plus a large selection of other Asian foods. Everything is made with care and attention todetail, and it's as good as any we've had anywhere in Asia. We love the juicy soup dumplings, the eggplant stuffed with shrimp mousse, the pea pod dumplings, the spicy noodles, and the cilantro rice noodle wraps. But everything is fabulous. At this visit, stir fried cauliflower with garlic was one of the specials, and we absolutely loved it. Great tea selection, attentive service, and very fair prices keep us coming back.
