We started with the Calmari and Nueske's Thick-Cut Bacon. Both were a big hit with our table of four. Woodfire Grille really knows how to do starters. My husband's second course was the Wedge Salad (with a substitution of Balsamic Vinegar Dressing for the Blue Cheese Dressing). He really likes this salad. My daughter and I split the French Onion Soup. It was OK, but tasted as if it was from a can. In addition, there was only a tiny sprinkle of Gruyère cheese (i.e. under 10 shreds). The menu indicated it had flaky croutons, but it really was just a crustless piece of toast floating around. Both my daughter and I agreed we would not order it again. My son and I ordered identical Mini Mignons for our entree. Both of us requesting medium rare. My son's was cooked to perfection. Mine was way overcooked and came out as well done. It makes me wonder if the order was taken down incorrectly since I would have thought the two Mini Mignon dishes would have been fired at the same time? My husband's entree was the Pacific Halibut. He enjoyed it immensely. My daughter ordered the Crab Cake (an appetizer) and Mac N' Cheese (a side) as her entree. She hardly touched the Mac N' Cheese as it really seemed like just plain pasta. Just as with the French Onion Soup, there was hardly any cheese. The chef seems to loath parting with his Gruyère cheese and will only sprinkle a couple of pieces of shredded cheese on each of the dishes that call for it. Service was excellent. Our waitress was very good and attentive. In my last review, I complained about the extra large table leg at the booths. I requested something different and the hostess delivered. The half table/half booth do not have this horrible table leg and instead havetwo small legs. Very acceptable. We will go back again, but I am starting to learn what to order and what not to order.More infoWoodfire GrillePrice: Moderate• Steakhouse• Mulvane•4.7
