THE STORY BEHIND THE PROVING GROUND…WE TOOK A LITTLE HISTORY FROM THE AREA WHEN NAMING AND DESIGNING THE RESTAURANT AFTER THE SANDY HOOK PROVING GROUNDS. ESTABLISHED IN 1874, IT BECAME THE FIRST US ARMY PROVING GROUND TO TEST ARTILLERY AND OTHER MATERIALS. AND THAT’S WHAT WE ARE ALL ABOUT – TESTING NEW MENU ITEMS AND SPECIALIZING IN THE NEWEST CRAFT BEER AND COCKTAILS. WE LIKE TO MIX IT UP WITH OUR EVENTS, MUSIC, AND EXPERIENCE TO ALWAYS KEEP THINGS FRESH AND FUN.

Triumph Brewing Company, founded in 1995, is a full service restaurant and brewery with a seasonally changing gastro-pub menu driven largely by local farms. One guest described us as, "Upscale yet laid back. Cool but cozy. Refined but not pretentious." We're still blushing! We have live, original music Thursday- Sunday - never a cover charge and never a cover band. We have an outdoor patio for drinks and dining where dogs are welcome.Conveniently located on Bridge Avenue just in front of the acclaimed Two River Theater, a 2 minute walk from the train station and a 5 minute walk to the Count Basie Theatre. There is ample, free garage parking directly behind Triumph.

Great view, attentive service, fresh and tasty food. Only drawback was the very loud conversation from nearby tables, which almost drowned out the conversation with my friend.

Went there with 7 people on a Friday night. All of our drinks we had were so festive. The burnt tip appetizer was such a hit!! We also had the hummus, sweet potatoes and pretzels and they were also so delicious. Our waitress was wonderful! Highly recommend going here!

The River Cafe is probably the most beautiful and maybe the best restaurant in NYC. The views are stunning and the service without comparison. We had the vegetarian menu which was varied and delicious . There were a number complimentary “ gifts” from the chef in addition to the amuse bouche . The bread was excellent, beet salad was prepared table side , I had the truffle risotto and my companion the simple pasta dish which was also delicious . We both had the signature dessert - the Brooklyn bridge . I can recommend this restaurant highly . It’s expensive but worth every cent.

We frequent the Atlantic House, food is always great, the service is best in class and the atmosphere is always lively. The blue cheese chips are a great starter as are the Pot of Clams.
