Manor Hill Tavern occupies the historic Taylor’s Row in Old Ellicott City. Our bar and dining areas feature original architectural elements such as exposed stone walls, barn doors, and vaulted ceilings. Local artwork hangs throughout the Tavern’s many rooms and a mural adorns a main wall, a nod to the eclectic and vibrant artistic community of Old Ellicott City. We have one major focus: the popular German street food - schnitzel. We also have wursts made by local German meat market legend, Binkert's (Rosedale, MD). Other partnerships include a Black Forest Ice Cream Sandwich by Scoop & Paddle (Clarksville, MD).We use fresh meats and vegetables, never frozen. The pretzels are made by hand by an Army vet who learned to make pretzels in Germany after his service. The sauces are made from scratch.     We have been many times and yet have never had the wild boar Bolognese. It has been on the menu since the beginning so I don’t know how we keep missing it. Anyway, it was delicious as was the grilled calamari which used to be on the regular menu, but now frequently appears as a special. The Somalia helped us pair an excellent wine with our main course and the service was friendly and prompt as always. Birroteca is one of our favorites.

    Our server was awesome. She was attentive and very nice. The home made soup was delicious! We had chili and cream of mushroom soup. The atmosphere was warm and the background live music excellent!

    Food was outstanding! Service was a little slow but they were very busy so thats to be expected. We were seated upstairs which was a little weird. No decorations and a bit awkward. Overall, will definitely go back because the food is worth it.

    What a fun night we had touring the brewery and then eating at the Tap Room. The service was outstanding and the food was really delicious. We ordered appetizers and beer that was made on-site. Definitely will return!
