Founded in 1996 the ideas for the Marblehead Chowder House were actually hatched a few years before. Sitting at "The Barnacle," overlooking Marblehead Harbor one raw winter day, while the spume from the rough saltwater painted the windows and the Sam Adams Lager flowed freely, a concept was born. Casual, coastal and cozy - fresh seafood, fin fish, shellfish and hearty chowders in a warm, relaxing atmosphere that says "seaside" - a place that had tradition, patriotism, and a New England heritage about it. Fresh ingredients, house-made soups and chowders, comfort food with a twist freshly prepared to order were all musts! Features unique to New England were the foundation – Ipswich Belly Clams (aka steamers, softshells, pissers), fresh Lobster Roll, a Raw Bar with half-shell oysters and clams and, of course, live Lobsters arriving regularly.     Exciting atmosphere. Duck was succulent. Service staff was attentive but interuptive: a short pause to be noticed prior to barging into a conversation distinguishes good service from great servive.

    You really do get what you pay for at Carlucci's! I very vividly remember the food being "meh" here. The views were gorgeous and the drinks were always good so it was a "maybe" for a long time for my family. We decided to go there last minute for Valentine's Day and we had the absolute BEST experience. Their temporary tent is now permanent outdoor seating, the service was perfect (hi Frank!), and the food was incredible. Highly recommend the Sea Bass and Caneloni! The BEST cannoli for dessert. Don't sleep on Carlucci's!

    The restaurant was perfect for a Valentine’s Day dinner. The ambience was romantic, the menu had a very nice variety for the select Valentine’s Day three course meal, and the signature drinks were delicious. One of the best espresso martinis we’ve ever had at a restaurant. My girlfriend was given a rose with the bill, which was a great final touch. Highly recommend!
