- BBreevipPhoenix / Arizona •20 reviews5.0Dined todayParty of five for Thanksgiving Experience. It was a set menu with the choice of entree and everything else served family style. Everything was fantastic! The food was plenty and timed just right to actually enjoy everything and not feel rushed. The ambience was pleasant and relaxed even in fine dining. The vegetarian mushroom paella was absolutely amazing! I could be a vegetarian on this dish alone, hah. The swordfish and the prime rib were amazing too. We had a great time and will absolutely come back to Ponto Lago when in town. - DdeborahOrange County •46 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoVery creative menu with natural sourced food. Our table had the duck taco appetizers that were amazing along with a chopped beet salad, apple and burrata cheese appetizer, and the tuna crudo. The latter was the only weak link among the appetizers since the sauce over-powered the tuna. I had the scallops which was one of the best preparations of scallops I've ever had. Our server was excellent--informative, attentive, and never intrusive. An all around great dinner meal.More infoVAGA Restaurant & BarPrice: Expensive• American• Encinitas•4.5
- HHamiltonvipSan Diego •11 reviews5.0Dined 7 days agoMan, I noticed a few bad reviews for this place but we totally disagree. This is a cool, smaller restaurant attached to the Hotel Valencia. It has a nice u-shaped bar with what seemed to be mostly locals hanging out talking with the staff. Upscale vibe but not "stuffy" La Jolla vibe. The cocktails were amazing and fairly creative. We also thought the food was excellent, contrary to what a few other folks have said. The braised short rib Mao, crispy pumpkin squash, and twinkie ceaser were the standouts. Only minor downsides were that you can smell the seals a little bit and it was a bit chilly inside, as the door was kept open. Overall we really enjoyed our experience.More infoThe Whaling BarPrice: Expensive• Californian• La Jolla•4.5
- JJenniferSan Diego •1 review5.0Dined 7 days agoLast night we celebrated my fiance's birthday and we had a FANTASTIC Time. We checked in with the hostess, she was welcoming and we noticed that special menus had been printed and personalized for our special birthday dinner together; that is ABOVE and BEYOND. We enjoyed starter bread with the amazing dipping sauce, wonderful entrees, desserts and ended the night with cappuccinos. The food was spectacular, the service was unparalleled and the night was very memorable. I am so grateful to Piatti...for a dinner we will always remember. I am so grateful to all the staff; thank you so much.More infoPiatti - La JollaPrice: Moderate• Italian• La Jolla•4.7
