Located in historic Blagden Alley in D.C.'s Shaw neighborhood since 2015, The Dabney continues to pay tribute to the wonderful farmers, watermen, and purveyors of the mid-Atlantic region whom provide some of the best and most unique products in the country. The tasting menu is presented as a culinary journey, with each plate arriving like a carefully curated museum piece. While the technical execution is impressive and plating is Instagram-worthy, the portions leave much to be desired. At $800 for 2, this meal should have been transformative. The ambiance and service hit all the right notes for fine dining, the cumulative effect was overshadowed by a persistent hunger that had us contemplating a late-night burger run – not exactly what you'd expect after such a significant investment.

This was a great experience. From the time we walked in until we left the staff were considerably, attentive, and extremely nice. The energy is inviting. The open kitchen was a nice addition to the experience filling the room with warmth. The menu was clearly designed with deep thought and intention. Would highly recommended.

We changed reservations so upon arrival the new reservation did not show up~and it was crowded. The hostess checked with the manager and went ahead and seated us which was great. We had driven a long ways to eat at this restaurant. The food was fantastic. The server was amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant. Great service by Josue Romero.

Had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and the service was great. We sat at the counter and were able to watch the chef make everything. Since we went on a Monday, wine was market price, so we enjoyed the salmon special and pork chop with a bottle of wine. Too bad they're closing the restaurant portion, because we would definitely go back. Looking forward to taking some cooking classes there though!
