Enjoy fresh seafood from Hawaii and fresh seafood flown in weekly from California, plus our signature Bucket of Fire and Volcano flaming drinks, all within walking distance to shops and historic sites.

A landmark (formerly the Ocean View Inn) and a local’s favorite Kona restaurant since 1934, the building housing The Fish Hopper has been beautifully restored to expand upon its spectacular ocean views. We proudly serve seafood from sustainable sources, harvested by methods that do not harm the environment.

Parking is available up the driveway, it's lighted for ease in the dark. There are also handicap spots where there is ramp access to the back of the dining room.

Our waiter was great we weren’t happy with one dish he returned it no problem. The mahi mahi and Poke tacos were really good. Very casual atmosphere typicalHawaiin restaurant. Would recommend it.

We came for happy hour and the bartenders were very nice and drinks good. We stayed for dinner and had the extravagant boat with lobster steak ahi etc. It was delicious and fed us for 2 days. We loved the sunset and everything about our night out. Thank you!!

Fries came out cold (but still tasty) - and by the time the server came back around, it was too late to get more or complain about it. Coconut shrimp was delicious (hot shrimp, cold fries, haha). Partner had the Ono (too rare, he asked for medium, but didn't want to send it back) - gave it a very good. Friend had the burger - gave it an outstanding. PLEASE NOTE: they fry everything in the same oil, so if you have a seafood or shellfish allergy, watch out! We did not think to ask. Not sure if we would go back, too many other places to try. It was nice overlooking the bay, and the service was great, but honestly, the food did not live up to its stellar online reviews or the price paid.

The food was just ok, sides came cold. The waitress was below ok, just check on us 1x. The busboy worked very hard. The drinks were great. The view was great. I’m on the island 4x yearly, but won’t be back because of the service.

We had a great dinner at Fish Hopper! The service was good, the manager was very friendly and definitely pitching in to help the staff (serving drinks, cleaning tables, interacting with guests). And the food was fantastic! We started with the ahi nachos, which live up to the rave reviews! Then we had the Ono and Mongchong for our entrees. Both were fantastic! Definitely recommend.
