   I’ve been to almost all the steakhouses in Fresno, Fleming’s is by far my favorite for special occasions. Been here 5 times over that last few years and have had amazing food and service every time. And of all the places I’ve ever been, the dry aged ribeye is probably the best steak I’ve ever had anywhere. The servers are smart and very knowledgeable of everything on the menu, making everything simple for a wonderful night out.

   I needed to find a quick meal while traveling for business in Fresno. We had about an hour to eat between our last meeting and our flight out of Fresno. I chose Fleming’s based on previous positive experiences at Flemings in DTLA and La Jolla. We both ordered a steakhouse burger that was small and disgusting for $22. I asked if I could sub fries for a small salad, I was told no. They gave us each literally 10 fries. There was some sort of onion slime sauce on the burger, as well as bacon, which I asked to not include. For that price point you expect a burger like you would get at Capital Grille, Morton’s, etc. This was far worse that Five Guys. The server never asked us how the food us, even though we did not finish it. I also asked for a NA beer. The only offering was Odouls, which is some relic from the 1970’s, so I ordered iced tea. There are plenty of people that either do not drink, or do not drink all the time. NA beer is a growing market. Morton’s has Athletic, which is the market leader. At minimum Flemings should have Heineken 00, or one of the offerings from Stella, etc. I would avoid this place at all costs.

   Great overall dining experience! My wife, son, and I ate here and all were very pleased. My son and I both had the dry aged ribeye and they were both cooked to MR perfectly. Similarly, my wife’s petite filet was great as well. I’ve had some bad luck at nice places ordering MR and getting M cooked steaks but not here. Service from Elizabeth was first class and pace of food was not rushed but just right. Highly recommend and just wish we were local so we could visit more often!!!

   Flemings is a classic. We ended up here after failing to make reservations closer to our evening’s event. It did not disappoint. The wine menu is excellent, with enough options to satisfy any diner. The French onion soup and Caesar salad were both top notch. The petite filet was cooked to perfection, which is a challenge for my “well-done” loving wife. The sea bass was good, but not quite up to par with the rest of the meal, tasting a little bland. The miso glaze is the right choice, but it was too thin and imparted too little texture and flavor. The Brussels were solid, as good Brussels are. The star of the show was Elizabeth, our server. She was aware we had time constraints, and delivered a performance worthy of a standing ovation. We never felt rushed and never wanted. She was efficient and still gracious. Her recommendations were spot on, her ease at the table reassuring. As a former restaurant server and manager, I’m always looking for an Elizabeth but rarely find one. We will return to Flemings almost solely for this reason. Good service makes a meal memorable. The challenge for Flemings is the price-point. At $200+ for a couple, it needs to wow. Instead it delivered. The ambiance is nearly elegant, but instead lands on nice. The number of waitstaff is a real plus, and to be commended. The food was almost outstanding, but the fish brought us down to very good. The parking is… well a nightmare. Flemings is without a doubt, one of the best dining options in Fresno when you’re looking for something special. But when you charge $100+ a person, you must be judged by the highest standards. For that reason, it gets 4/5 stars. An excellent option with a superior server, but falling just short of wow.

   This was one of our best meals at Fleming’s. We have been coming for years but everything has gone up a notch. The food, the service and ambience were amazing and a treat for us and our friends.

   Our experience was outstanding. It was my first visit since the last about 14 years ago, service was excellent, food was great ambience was good however when the restaurant filled up it was quite noisy unlike other 5 star steak houses I have been to lately, but it did not detract from the service and the moment.

   Server was amazing perfect date night/special event. Very attentive staff and food was cooked to perfection. Would recommend. As well three course meal is the way to go.

    A reunion dinner for 11 was outstanding. Our group had filet mignon, Seabass, chicken, and salmon. All were spectacular we added, brussels sprouts, Flemming, potatoes, cream, spinach, and mushrooms. All outstanding. Didn’t have many drinkers in the group so we can’t really comment on the Wine list.Our server Christopher was terrific. All in all a five star experience.
