We are a bustling neighborhood restaurant in the heart of north loop. We are one of Austins oldest farm to table concepts. Our menu is foreign in style, while domestically sourced. Our menus change with the season, farm availability, & on chefs whim. Join us for our nose to tail tasting menu nightly if you appreciate whole animal usage. Our wine program is aimed toward biodynamic natural small production wines. If you'd like to have pre or post dinner cocktails, our awesome neighbors include the tigress bar & drink.well.
Please note that we have a 15 minute grace period on reservation arrival times. Should you find yourself running late, please give us a call or the table may be released to a waiting guest.
Tables of 1-2 guests will be reserved for 1.5 hours, tables of 3-4 will be reserved for 1 hour and 45 minutes, tables of 6+ will be reserved for 2 hours. These times reflect standard dining times of our guests. Should you feel that you need additional time, please notate this.

The entire menu was fantastic. Sarah and Nathan really did a great job. Planning this menu and executing it. The wine was great and the service was just as good as the meal. More people need to come to this place, it is wonderful.

Our server was Shenay. She was warm, professional and simply a lovely person. Our meal was a favorite of 2024! A perfect way to end the year. The Michelin Guide should have acknowledged this restaurant, because we think it outranks a couple of the restaurants that made the list. We’ve been customers since the first week that F&D opened, and we truly believe that the food now is better than ever. The restaurant made a big splash under the original owner, but it’s definitely been elevated. Kudos! And Happy New Year!

We had a wonderful new year's dinner last night at Foreign and Domestic. Probably the best meal of the year. Truly interesting tastes and spices and textures. Wine pairing was reasonably priced and very diverse. The server was super nice and very thoughtful. We had 3 pescatarians, 2 normies, 1 vegetarian and 1 vegan. He kept track of us incredibly well and was very considerate checking on our preferences and enjoyment. It was a truly gourmet meal with 5 courses. We were well fed but not stuffed. If we missed anything, it was their usual gouda popovers which i crave at every visit. Perhaps the best restaurant in Austin, and always nice and never stuffy. Thanks for a great start to the New Year!

One: they had no issue splitting a tasting menu between two people in addition to us ordering a number of other things, which was a delightful and excellent way to taste what they had to offer. Two, dollar oysters on Tuesdays and half off small plates during happy hour meant an extremely reasonably priced luxury dinner - I think they do tartare the best in this city, their pork pate was delicious, and the tasting menu was fantastic. portions are good, servers are informed, it’s all kindsa good!

The server Jeremiah was very friendly and efficient. Very impressed that he removed our dishes after each set of food and when it was a little messy and cleaned up the table as well, better than many expensive restaurants. The New England oyster was great and its HH price could not be better. We ordered all small plates plus the rabbit cake and one other specialty. They all appeared to be very salty except the famous popovers. Over all it was a fun experience.

The food is always outstanding. Our friend noted that they have the BEST steak tartare he has ever had, including when he was recently in Paris. And this is an executive nit prone to hyperbole. The gnocchi is outstanding; the popovers are outstanding; the staff are courteous and not over bearing. This is an amazing restaurant!
