   We were staying in Carnelian Bay, so I loved the location of this restaurant. Great food, cute ambiance, and great drinks. Food came out fast.

   The service we received had some hiccups. First, there was a bunch of confusion when checking in for our 4:15 pm reservation - it was hectic and the hostess was NOT friendly (though everyone else was), but they finally got us seated. The view was really great, but they sat us (a party of 5) at a table for 4. We had to ask for an additional chair so that 3 weren’t having to cram onto the booth side of the table. The dining room in general is VERY cramped (we were there in the winter so the outdoor deck wasn’t open). Our waiter was very pleasant, the only complaint we had was that he gave incorrect information (or perhaps he was just relaying incorrect information?) As we were there at 4:15 we were given the lunch menu. We asked when they started serving dinner and the waiter told us in just a few minutes and asked if we’d like to see the dinner menu, which we did. 2 in our party wanted to order the Prime Rib. When we gave the waiter our order he said that he would have to check with the kitchen to make sure they had it that night. We said no problem. He came back and told us that yes they did but would only have rare to medium rare available. We said that would be perfect. 10 minutes later the waiter came back and said that they wouldn’t be able to serve the prime rib until 5pm (20 minutes later). We were not in a hurry so we said no problem, we didn’t mind waiting. And it was wonderful that they still brought out the kids meal for the child in our party so he didn’t have to wait. 5 o’clock rolls around and someone else from the kitchen (not sure who??) but tells us that the prime rib wouldn’t be available for another hour from then. So we order something else. The food we did receive was all delicious, and the waiter was very friendly but honestly we were a bit disappointed with the communication and the fact that they didn’t offer to do anything to make things right. 45 minutes waiting for prime rib to be told never mind, and nothing to make up for it? Come on.

   Under staffed, seated on rental chairs by a bathroom. For the price you pay you’d think the staff would be kind, not the case. Do better.

   We made a reservation for New Years Day for 10 people, and we’re easily accommodated when we needed to adjust the time. All the staff we encountered were incredibly friendly, professional and helpful. Even though they were very busy due to the holiday, we were served in reasonable time and all of our needs were met. We had an excellent seat with a beautiful view of the lake at sunset. Excellent experience!

   The view out the window was spectacular overlooking lake Tahoe. The food was excellent as always. Several Wet Woodies started our visit. They were very busy which you would expect for New Years Eve. Always love going to Garwoods year around.

   Garwoods is a gem! One of our favorite restaurants. From burgers to steaks, salad to pasta. It’s all amazing and you can’t beat the view 😉

   Fabulous!! Great dinner, fun atmosphere. Food was delicious. I had the Ribeye cooked perfectly. Although they were super busy prior to New Year’s, our server, Sergio, was super attentive and food was served quickly, no long wait considering they were slammed. A lovely dining experience.

    Dined at Garwoods On 12/30 for dinner. Packed full with friends and family enjoying Tahoe over the holidays. Considering how crowded it was the service and the food was really good. The waiters and bus persons were on top of everything. I know it’s not their first rodeo but complements to everyone at Garwoods who make it happen.
