   This has been a favorite restaurant of mine for a very long time. I moved to San Diego a few years ago so haven’t been back in a while. This trip back was probably the most disappointing. The food was very bland and mid. Nothing was hot or tasted fresh. I had the scallops and risotto and my boyfriend had the salmon eggs Benedict. The eggs beny came on a croissant (they only give out one half of a small croissant), cold eggs, and potato’s that have been siting under a warmer for 3 hours. Which was kind of insane for almost $40. We had a couple of appetizers as well but it’s the same story. Mid food that was just okay and room temperature. We had a reservation and I requested certain seating. My boyfriend is non confrontational so accepted defeat on getting a good seat. Which was frustrating because so many other walk ins were sat next to us and they all were able to successfully move to a better table. this place is just not what it used to be.

   Geoffrey’s is always a joy. We had incredible service, our server was exceptional, and the oysters were the absolute best I have had probably ever. All of the food was excellent. But the oysters…heaven. I had not been there in 25 years and it may have gotten better.

   We asked to be seated somewhere else because the guests near us were very loud and it interfered with our experience and the host refused to accommodate us even though there were a lot of empty and available tables. The food was expensive but of poor quality. Service was good. We liked our server who was very pleasant. Ambience was great cause the restaurant is located in front of the ocean and you can take a walk on the beach after your meal which I highly recommend. Overall experience was mediocre. Given that this is an expensive restaurant the quality of food, and the management’s refusal to accommodate their guests left a poor taste and experience for us.

   The ambiance and service (even the valet) was excellent! I had the Thanksgiving Prix Fixe dinner which included 3 courses for $94. My first course was the carb cake and it was delicious! My second course was the filet mignon, which was a bit over cooked and while it tasted good, I suspect it was not cooked to order but precooked and reheated some kind of way (disappointing). The sides were all good and cookie desert was actually very good and I don’t even care for hazelnut in any way 😂. It’s in Malibu and on the ocean front so I won’t tell the readers that’s it’s overpriced because I would definitely go back!

   This is our third year visiting the restaurant for Thanksgiving Dinner. As usual, it was great. Subsequently, we were happy to see Vegetarian/Vegan options.

   Our server Austin was friendly and attentive throughout our Thanksgiving dinner. The Prix Fixe menu was delicious and the view of the sunset just capped off a memorable evening! Would definitely recommend this venue for special occasions!!

    The experience at GEOFFREY'S was magical!!!! We joined in a meal with long lost friends and a couple of new ones to make a memory.
