This is the story of Paolo and Matteo, two guys from Milano who had an idea. Let's take the heart of our tradition and fuse it with the exciting innovations happening in Italian cooking, they said. Inspired by the Roman deity Janus who looked to the future as well as the past, Giano respects tradition and embraces the future. We like to think of our little corner in the east village as quite special, and hope you will too

The service was amazing. The food was fantastic, and the Italians who own it were authentic and caring for us. A true Italian expirence that I will surely never forget nor think twice when recommending my favorite Italian spot. Saluté to the masters of their craft.

I love this place. I’ve been here several times and I love the fun service and the delicious reasonably priced food. I will continue to come here. The food is so good.

Server was great, until he told us our entrées, which had been ordered more than an hour ago, would be “one minute” when we didn’t receive them for another 10+. (We checked our watches/texts.) Our food arrived staggered, with one of our party receiving his food last, then having to scarf down his meal in under 5 minutes. Server comped our bottle of wine, but at least one meal should have been comped also. Uncomfy wooden bench seating along wall.

I cannot talk enough about the food here. Excellent is an understatement. The staff were friendly and courteous. Would absolutely go again, but not too frequently because I just can’t afford a $150 meal for two that often to go everyday.
