   The worst dining experience ever. We ordered linguine with clam sauce and fried oysters, but both arrived cold. I mentioned the issue, and the waiter offered to "heat them up" again.

   The two guys who greet and seat you were the only issue during our experience. They couldn’t have been more grumpy and rude. After we got through them everything was very good.

   The two men at the reception desk looked bloody miserable and did not welcome us and looked as though they did not want to be there . Other than that , the service and food was delicious

   This is an experience—very old school. I’m glad we went but would not go back. The food is average, as was the service, and the din! But the giant space was full of locals so something about it keeps people coming back.

   I wish I could actually say I knew how the food was. The problem is I waited 45 minutes for my waiter to tell me that what I ordered was not even on the menu. After almost an hour, we just got up and walked out. Of course that's when the waiter says our food is ready. I told him he could eat it himself. He was rude, disrespectful, and never paid any attention to us. I've been eating at this restaurant for 50 years. I've never had such a disgraceful experience.

   We eat here every time we come to New York and we always had an excellent time. However this time we were treated like actual bums. We had a reservation and came appropriately dressed but the maitre D’ (or whoever the grey haired man with glasses at the front was) didn’t deem us worthy to be greeted or even be spoken one word to. We were wordlessly hushed away to his colleague with a dismissive wave. We were so excited to visit but that dismissive and rude behavior really killed the mood. We will strongly reconsider coming here in the future. The oysters were amazing as always, and our server was really nice, but the behavior of the person at the front desk to start our evening made for such a terrible start.

    Thank you for a wonderful afternoon for my son’s birthday! We’re native New Yorkers and this is his 2st time to the Oyster Bar. He’s hooked! Such an iconic place. Great memories for me! Still amazing! Thanks for the great service! We had a great time!
