   Outstanding food and service. Ian did a wonderful job waiting on us. This is our second time this month to Haliimaile General Store. Highly recommend this restaurant for a special dining experience.

   We love the whole vibe of this place! It is beautiful and the food is delicious! Our server Dale has been there for years and he actually waited on us a year prior. He has personality plus which adds to the experience.

   Worse value for the price. Don’t get me wrong the food is great if you want to spend $54 for a snack of a dinner. Let me give you some background! I have been a loyal weekly customer to this Restaurant for the last 15 years and always looked forward to our weekly dinners. Was friends with Bev the Founder personally and have always loved my time there until tonight. Thru the hardest of their downtimes we have been loyal customers because like many Restaurants on Maui the Maui Locals keep the doors open. I had 32 years in the Maui Foodservice industry and we know the value of finding balance with local clientele so during slow times you have steady business. Our weekly outings, we always spend and tip well but I can not support Hailiimaile General Store with this new menu. It’s sad because I love the staff and their service. They make you feel like family. I was embarrassed. Brought 4 of us to dinner. Myself and one of my guest ordered the fresh catch at $54.00 per plate. He literally ate his plate in 5 minutes because the portion looked like it was 2 oz of fish. My other guest that I took there last month had a big bowl of noodles and fish end of October versus tonight the dish was half the size but not half the price. I expect this kind of value with small portions at a high priced Maui Hotel. Hence we don’t eat at our Hotels because that’s the small portions and prices that chased us locals away. I can no longer recommend nor will I have dinner there again. The value is the worse I have experienced in a long time and the worse I have ever experienced Upcountry Maui. You should not pay over $400 Upcountry on Maui and go home feeling hungry. I feel so embarrassed to have taken my guest there.

   Really good food! Little warm for me but not unpleasant. The signature cocktail (Mai tai?) was delicious and they called it a different name and it definitely wasn’t a traditional Mai tai. $180 for 6 of us seemed like a lot but also not unreasonable for Maui. Awesome place to stop for lunch after a pineapple tour across the street.

   We were there for lunch and have gone several times. Excellent lunch or dinner spot. Very eclectic decorating with a cool Maui vibe. Great menu with tofu options. Excellent service.

   Strange disappointing experience. Food was okay at best. Mai tai was excellent. Service was swift, way too swift. About twenty-five minutes after being served our food, the waiter asked if we’d like to see the dessert menu. I’d eaten half my food. We replied yes we’d like to consider dessert, but then a few minutes later the waiter came with the bill and tried to take my plate. I told him I wasn’t finished. Very weird. We felt churned.

   The best meal I have at in Maui. The macadamia nut crusted Mahi Mahi with sweet potato mash and tropical fruit salsa was divine.
