   One of our long time PDX favorite places (we've called Higgins' Bar "our annex' everyplace we've lived here) once again didn't disappoint!! I had their winter special pasta with sausage, broccoli and breadcrumbs - C had the Petrale Sole special. Both fabulous!

   Higgins is THE place to go for excellent, fresh, creative food in downtown Portland. One feels welcomed, cared for and deliciously-fed while being elegant or casual, it matters not. An institution continues to thrive, thank goodness. One can patronize the bar or the dining room, whatever your pleasure. BTW, the wait staff is truly excellent and caring.

   We wanted a quieter restaurant...and we got that. The servers were very attentive. The food was amazing. We haven't been in years and I regret that decision. We will return much sooner next time around. I'm glad they survived the Pandemic.

   The food we had was well executed and high quality. There was nothing particularly interesting about it, no surprising flavors, however. The mushroom bruschetta was probably the most tasty. The duck was, well, duck. The Petrale sole special was rather dry fish, no sauce. the place is noisy - hard surfaces. The service was slow.

   Unusually bad service last night. Appetizers arrived twice. Main course took a long time to arrive - we waited over 30 minutes between appetizers and main course - We had to rush and almost missed the concert. No apologies were even attempted. I will not return.

   I hadn’t been to the Higgins Bar in a long time although always loved it from way back. It was full and very busy - good thing I made a reservation because I think I got the last tiny table. If I want to sit at that beautiful bar I’ll need to come even earlier. It was a symphony night so maybe that was the reason. Ordered from the bistro menu and had a smaller pasta entree (radiatore pasta w/fennel sausage) that was delicious along with a cotes de Provence rose. Perfect! Wait staff were delightful. I was treated to a tiny delight amuse bouche before dinner. Fun evening pre-symphony 💕

   From our arrival to the moment we departed, we had an exceptional experience. The staff were thoughtful, engaging, and professional throughout. The food was exquisite, including an unexpected amuse-bouche offering from the chefs. We loved the Oregon/local purveyor influence throughout the menu and the knowledge and supportiveness of the waitstaff and culinary staff around celiac/gluten-free) considerations. The experience was fulfilling on all levels (beyond our bellies and tastebuds), and we look forward to a return visit!

    We LOVE Higgins - both the Bar, with its bistro menu, and the Dining room, with more expansive and spendy offerings. As a pioneer in Farm to Table, Higgins never disappoints us. Gracious, comfortable service, creative menus of regional food items and fine cocktails, beer & wine offerings.
