                              I last went to House of Prime Rib about 30 years ago. Then it was a wonderful 5 star experience. This time. It was extremely disappointing. It's turned into a prime rib factory. Don't arrive before your reservation expecting to have a cocktail at the bar before your dinner. The bar fills up with stand by diners who wait in line to eat at the bar. There are a few cocktail tables in a hallway, with one coctail waitress serving them. Those tables fill up too and the service was very slow. The place is crowded. Our table was lovely. the old time victorian design remails special. The service was scripted and rushed. The server was knowlegeable and efficient, but cold. We were halfway through our dinner when a server with a cart came by offering to box up our leftovers and clear our plates. That person returned several times before we were done. The food was fine. In general, House of Prime Rib is a victim of their own success. Not worth it.
