Hugo's Restaurant, a Valley staple since 2000, offers California cuisine with a modern, from-scratch flair, featuring whole-food, plant-based ingredients. Especially famous for our brunch, come to Hugo’s to enjoy signature breakfast dishes like "Pasta Mama,” “Desayuno Fuerte,” or our gluten free “Almond Energy Pancakes.” Peanut-free, GMO-free, sustainable, and organic. Organic Chicken & Rice Soup

I ordered eggs Benedict and the eggs came out over cooked. The fruits were not fresh either. Server was slow when it’s not busy. I really loved this place, but haven’t been here for a while now. It feels like a diner more than anything. Very disappointed.

I had been there a couple weeks ago with 6 people total and everyone was very disappointed with the food quality. Even my very green casserole, a dish I have ordered for years wasn’t the same. I didn’t plan on going back again. Then, a friend wanted to meet there for breakfast. I usually order the breakfast salad and figured, “Okay, this is it. I’m giving this place one more chance.” And guess what? The breakfast salad was better than ever! Maybe we had a different cook on that dinner night? No idea what happened. I will definitely go back for the breakfast salad, that’s for sure.

We were excited to try Hugo’s while visiting LA as the entire menu is gluten free. The special menu had pumpkin pancakes which were phenomenal. I enjoyed every bite. I was excited to see cornbread offered as part of another dish and asked if I could have a side of cornbread. The cornbread unfortunately was not served at room temperature and was dried out. I added some of my syrup to it which helped add moisture as the flavor was good. I was told the four cheese macaroni and cheese with the GF penne was very good as was the omelette. Dessert offerings of peach cobbler and pumpkin pie were also enjoyed, though a comment was made that the pumpkin pie was a little heavy on the cinnamon and other spices.
