   The whole experience was awful. Appetisers came before we had a drink. The wine was 86 and when I turned to order another bottle the server had gone not returning until I called the manager over 10 mins later and then explaining I am busy I have two other tables! Really! Then she made a rude comment when I ordered the wine saying let me make sure we're have it so they're it's not another fiasco. Basically rude service with a bad attitude. Then the food, one of our party had to have his pasta remade twice. First of was so salty it was inedible then it was so undercooked it was inedible again. When she brought the third pasta she said the chef was scared. Why. Just check your food before sending it out. The Lamb was over cooked and the shell fish in my Cioppino were so fishy I left the whole thing. She didn't even ask why I didn't eat the meal. The affogato was a tiny piece of ice cream with drip coffee. I asked for an Italian dessert wine and was told they did to have any. I went to the bar myself and the BT said of course we do, so I had one. By now we just wanted to leave. They didn't even comp the pasta. DO NOT waste your time or money here. It couldn't have been worse if they tried. FYI I am a restaurant owner and have never left a review like this but this place was terrible. I think because they are near Bourbon Street they just don't care as people come in anyway. Worst service and food I have ever had.

   The food and the service was spectacular. The temperature in the restaurant was humid and warm. When the tile floors sweat you know that it is bad. I will return for another great food experience on cooler dates.

   I traveled from Texas for a short vacation with my friend and fiancée. I wanted one special dinner to celebrate upcoming events and after extensive research, I chose Irene’s. As an industry professional and foodie, I cannot express how ecstatic I was at the service we received. They knew we were celebrating and pulled out ALL the stops. Complimentary tastings and dishes, a personalized toast from our spectacular server, Demetrius, and the perfect window table. Each dish was flavorful, perfectly cooked and delicious. The staff was above and beyond and the entire evening was more than we ever could have asked for.
