   The food was excellent. Our server was attentive and went the extra mile by getting an ice cream to celebrate a birthday. Wonderful experience

   Steaks, salmon and sea bass special were all excellent. Waitress was really efficient - she was there when needed but didn’t hover an make us feel rushed. I’m pretty picky and I really liked J Gilberts.

   The steak had to be sent back because it was tough and the new steak was more tender but not seasoned as well. But it seemed all the waiters cared about was that it was the right temperature. Lobster Mac was bland and I’m a huge Mac fan but I couldn’t eat it. Mashed potatoes were gluey. Stomach aches the rest of the night. Waitress was nice but the time in between seeing her was just sooo long. I just wanted to get the check and go. For that amount of money I rather go to Capital Grille

   I had the steak and wedge salad. The steak was chewier than I would have expected. The vegetables and polenta were delicious. Our waiter was fantastic.

    We have never had anything but an outstanding experience at J. Gilbert’s. Always consistently excellent and lunch was no exception. They are only open for lunch in the month of December - wish it was all year!
