Jimmy V’s Osteria & Bar is a unique and modern restaurant was created with Jimmy Valvano’s passion and commitment to excellence, and a percentage of the restaurant’s revenue is donated to the V Foundation. Jimmy Valvano’s love for food is the influence behind our menu creation featuring local and seasonal dishes with an emphasis on delicious Italian/American down to earth and traditional comfort foods using local farm grown ingredients and straightforward preparations. Also, our culinary team focuses on shareable small-plates, to encourage groups to socialize in a convivial atmosphere, which is warm and inviting for family gatherings, a night on the town or toasting drinks with friends.

My husband’s birthday is Valentine’s Day but we strategically made reservations to celebrate on the 15th because of the holiday to be able to have a nice dinner out with our son to celebrate together.. instead of being sat at a table to be able to have an interactive dining experience we were placed along edge seating with barstools which is not appropriate seating for a party of three because someone is always being left out of the interactions or conversation… I made a reservation knowing it was a holiday weekend and would have chosen differently if I was aware we could not be at a table. Our waitress Marissa was wonderful and the food was very good but the overall experience was diminished due to these seating arrangements and lack of effort of the host when my dislike for this seating was expressed.

Do not go here. The drinks and food were terrible and the front door is broken so it was very cold and consistently had to be reshut.

The butt holes were closed and we received NO advance notice, Had planned to dine there before the NC Symphony Pops Concert 2 blocks away. Parked our car in auditorium parking lot, wallked to Jimmy V's only to find sign on door saying open tomorrow. Too late to get reservation at 6:15 at any other downtown restuarant.

Many of the menu items were unavailable as well as the drinks. The chicken parm was over cooked and just not a good value restaurant. I was surprised.

Service was great from the host and server, they both offered recommendations and noticed that it was a birthday celebration on the reservation. The food was great and we will be back!

Server was very nice. We got drinks and appetizer fast. Entrees took a while and it was not busy yet. We both got the chicken parm. It was lukewarm, tasted bland and did not have “micro basil” as the menu stated. We never got our water refilled and our server never came to check on how our food was after it was dropped off by a food runner. Our drinks were great though and the appetizer was good.
