   Flew into town with the family to visit my daughter and head out to the game. This is one of our go to places. Daughters looking for a nice dinner and a break from dorm food. Food is amazing, great bourbon selection and nice wine list.

   We have visited JTK over the years with great dining experiences. Last night was not one of those. The bruschetta was merely chopped tomatoes and a bit of onion. The chicken piccata was not good with a soggy coating and very bland flavor. The braised pork shoulder was very bland and I had to ask for salt to try to improve the taste. We didn’t try dessert for fear of that bing a downer as well.

   Our reservation was for 6:15pm and we were seated promptly and upon arrival. We were celebrating my wife's Birthday and JTK delivered a great experience for us both. The drinks were just amazing! Our waitress was so professional and offered us an excellent wine choice. As our appetizer we chose the brussel sprouts because we were told how good they were, and they were absolutely amazing! Our entree was delivered after our appetizer which made for such a great dining experience. Not having plates or utensils cluttering our table made our experience very proficient. Our entree was simply amazing my steak was delicious well seasoned and the asparagus and potatoes were filled with flavor. My wife's dinner was slightly undercooked but they did prepare per her request. With such generous portions, she was very happy to take home both portions of our appetizer and her entree for enjoying later. Overall our entire evening while we dined at JTK was nothing short of incredible! I highly recommend visiting here if you're ever in Lincoln Nebraska. The parking can be a bit of a challenge but we had no issues finding a great spot, probably due to no football game scheduled during our night. But still I would suggest you come early to your expected dining reservation with that in mind We will be visiting JTK often and they've earned appreciative clients in us both.

    Our first time here, we had an 5:15 reservation and it appeared we were the first table. Unfortunately, we left unimpressed. The main issue was service, the server was nice but very inattentive only stopping by to get our order or deliver food. Our drinks were completely empty and after waiting about about 15 min we asked another server if there was anyway they could put in our second drink order, another bottle of wine and one pomegranate lemon drop. About 5 minutes later our server came to say she understood we wanted another round of drinks so we repeated to her our order. Another 10 minutes we finally get our bottle of wine and one drink. One of our guest only came for drinks and a snack as they couldn’t stay so we ordered the chicken curry soup and the date night menu. One of the two apps offered is not listed correctly online. We opted for the Balsamic Tomato Bruschetta although not a traditional bruschetta it was good, the bread that came with it was a highlight of the meal. The chicken curry soup was decent, appearance not so much, it could have been topped with something to elevate it a notch taste and appearance wise. My friend got the burger, he was satisfied. A lot of fries came with it and he said they were just ok and wasn’t found of the fry dip. I got the chicken piccata, at very best lukewarm. Chicken was very tough, not tender at all. However, the sauce flavor was enjoyable I thought the risotto was very good in fact I would have liked more. Asparagus is a hit or miss for me but I really did like the way it was cooked. We went with the blueberry bread pudding for dessert and I was very surprised how good it was. With two of us being in the industry we try to take into account everything that may be happening in the restaurant to affect service or food. We didn’t complain and still left a 20% tip however given the number of tables being occupied there was no reason for inattentive, slow service and lukewarm food.
