Established in 1999, King’s Fish House is Calabasas’ choice for seafood. Located at The Commons off Calabasas Rd., King’s Fish House features a large selection of oysters, seasonal catches, sushi and live shellfish, including lobster and crab, on a menu that changes daily.

We’ve been in restaurants a little while – three generations, to be precise. A long time ago, we embarked on a road trip in search of the ultimate seafood experience. We traveled down highways and byways, pulled up a seat, put on bibs and soaked up the seafood experience: the no-name dishes with unforgettable flavor, the fresh-caught oysters and clams piled high, the hand-lettered specials on ancient chalkboards and the savory simmer of every combination of spices imaginable.

We like to dine at Kings Fish House on a somewhat regular basis. We brought some friends for the first as we were raving about the restaurant. To our surprise, the experience was horrible. After we were seated, it took the server over 10 minutes to acknowledge that we were there and it was only after I had to ask the host to bring her. We were seated on the table right behind the reception desk even though all other tables were empty so it was annoying to hear the phone ringing throughout our dining experience and to top it off, one of the host threw all the drink menus onto our seats hitting my wife and not even apologizing for it until we told him he had done. So, I do not even think that this time around you guys deserve even a star. Very disappointed.

Had to wait about 1 hr for our food to arrive. We love this place, and keep going back. Don’t remember ever having to wait that long to get the food.

Had a great experience overall at King’s Fish House in Calabasas. The food was fresh and delicious, and the ambience was warm and inviting—perfect for a nice dinner out. The location is great and easy to get to. The only downside was the service. While everything ran smoothly, our server seemed disengaged, as if they didn’t really want to be there—more like someone just getting through the shift rather than enjoying their role. It didn’t ruin the meal, but it did stand out. Still, the quality of the food and setting made up for it. Would definitely come back and hope for a more welcoming service next time.
