In 1998, Buddy Guindon, his wife Katie, and his brother Kenny opened Katie's Seafood Market in Galveston, Texas. For more than 20 years now, Katie's Seafood Market has provided the highest quality of products available to its customers. The majority of seafood comes from local fishermen and shrimpers, including Red Snapper, Grouper, Golden Tile Fish, Flounder, Oysters, Shrimp, and Blue Crabs. A producer contacted Guindon in the hopes of doing a reality show about his family business. In 2015, the reality show 'Big Fish Texas' came to life on National Geographic. As a supporter of the local economy, In September of 2019, Buddy opened Katie’s Seafood House, next to the market. Katie’s seafood market supplies the restaurant with all fresh seafood. The crab cake appetizer is amazing. I made it my entree with their fabulous au gratin potatoes. My husband enjoyed an 8 oz. steak filet, asparagus and a huge wedge salad. Food was exceptional. Service from Richard was great. Ask for a seat by the window. Don’t forget to share their warm pecan crumble dessert with vanilla ice cream.

This is the nicest restaurant on the southeast side of town. Awesome food, service and atmosphere right on the water. The boudain stuffed pork chop is the best ever. Don't miss this spot. Beautiful restaurant.

Brunch was wonderful. Most of had the Eggs Benedict which was seasoned well. Espresso martini was unique with a coffee run and iris cream. The atmosphere was upscale but comfortable.
