Restaurants near Shawneetown Bank State Historic Site

This was our second visit, and we really enjoyed ourselves. They have it decorated for Christmas and our waiter was outstanding. We will be going back, and reservations are recommended to avoid a long wait. We had reservations both times.

It is a nice restaurant with the beautiful view of the lake. The food was very good though a little pricey, but that is expected for waterfront 90 service was good. The music was a bit loud for conversation, but I am also getting kind of old we will go back. 

It was a fantastic experience all around. Good food, good staff, and beautiful restaurant. Unfortunately, it’s attached to a casino that smells like an ashtray but once inside the restaurant, you don’t seem to smell it anymore.

Sitting in the bar room was much better as far as noise level. The spicy shrimp and grits was terrific. The apricot salmon was cooked well but the potato mash was very salty. Too salty to my liking and almost inedible. The bacon jam could use some texture. The bread that came along with the bacon jam was great.

Madeleine's delivers on its self-description as a fusion-focused restaurant. It's amazing how they can make delightful new flavor and texture experiences with delicate combinations of familiar food elements that don't usually share space on the same plate.
