Restaurants near Amparo Museum

We sat in the main salon in sight of the bar under the towering foyer with its interesting light fitting and we appreciated the colorful decor. Drinks and food were reasonably priced - M$140 for spritz and M$160-200 for glass of wine - tho’ wine pours here are not too generous. Mole served with chips was amazing and the choux amuse bouche a nice touch. I had the octopus in poblano sauce - octopus was perfectly cooked although not grilled like U.S. so may not be best choice if you don’t like the membrane feel on the outside, but perhaps best cooked octopus I have ever had - appreciated the few small potatoes - veg not a big thing here. My wife had chicken breast - turned out to be bone-in thigh with mole and rice. Chicken was again very well cooked and came with a very generous portion of fantastic mole.

This place is where the fisrt chile en nogada was made. It’s a must visit if you’re in Puebla. The murals are about the important people from Puebla. The yolixpa digestive at the end was amazing! The Mexican wine was delicious!! Highly recommended.

We enjoyed our evening dining in spite of the thumping techno music. I believe they are trying to attract a younger crowd. I specifically listed this as my Birthday celebration and received no acknowledgement from the staff. My spouse and I enjoyed our meals and we both tried their Shrimp appetizer with distressing results. I believe that was not a good choice for us since it was the ONLY thing that we both ate. All in all, I probably wouldn't return....but the view was outstanding.

Well located restaurant in the center of Puebla with a variety of Mexican dishes. As the restaurant was empty we opted for the terrace. For two on, for four the tables are too small. Service is kind but overall rather slow. I was a bit disappointed by the food, rather basic, not much flavor and my meat (medallion) was dry outside and still pretty raw inside. However the prices are more than correct.
