The Dining Room at Sun Mountain Lodge provides brunch and dinner in an upscale-casual atmosphere for both hotel guests and outside diners alike, while the Bar & Grill provides a relaxed first-come-first-served atmosphere for afternoon bites and dinner. Our menus are inspired by the Methow Valley, consisting of locally sourced meats and produce with select seasonal rotations. Brunch is served in the dining room from our incredible a-la cart menu from 7:30am until 1:00pm with lunch items available until 2:00pm. Dinner is served from 5pm until 8pm from our diverse and diner friendly menu in both the Dining Room and Bar. Our inspiration for the name of our new signature restaurant comes from a chaptik story passed down through the generations of our First Nations people of the Okanagan.The Syilx People of the Okanagan Nation approach to food is based on the creation stories of their culture and we’ve taken their stories as the inspiration for the name of our restaurant: “The Bear, The Fish, The Root & The Berry,” based on the story of the Four Food Chiefs.The Four Food Chiefs are central: Skimxist Black Bear (chief of animals, representing self-sacrifice, leadership, giving), Ntytikxw Chinook Salmon (water creatures, perseverance, hard work), Speetlum Bitterroot (plants below the round, relationships to the land) and Seeya Saskatoon Berry (plants above ground, growth, strength, community) are legendary and the elements of indigenous cuisine.

    My wife and I went for the Valentine's Day dinner special, and it was very, very well done. To start the evening, I had a Negroni and my wife had the Lavender Martini, and just before the meal was served, we ordered two glasses of Intersection Merlot. All of the drinks were perfect. I wish the appetizer platter was available year-round because it was spectacular. We shared the duck breast/duck leg and the amount of food was just right. The molten chocolate cake really was the topper on the meal. Inga was a very attentive and pleasant server, she added a lot to the evening. The only constructive comment I will offer is that it was very expensive, so it is a good thing the food quality and presentation was a 10/10! We look forward to coming back.

    We had a set menu for Valentine’s Day. The food was very sweet and flavorful. The Onion tart and flourless chocolate torta was by far the best.

    A magical dining experience. Arrive early to enjoy a cocktail from the historic pub bar while soaking in the magnificent valley view and crackling fire. Every dish was unique and masterfully prepared. The service made us feel like family friends. A perfect evening deserving 10 stars.
