A Family Tradition For Over 90 YearsMrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant first opened in 1934 with Mrs. Knott and her children serving the first customers in their tea room. The restaurant has grown over the years into one of the largest in California, but the classic fried chicken dinner is still made the same way today using Mrs. Knott's recipes. Every complete chicken dinner includes handmade biscuits, side salad, choice of cabbage or cherry rhubarb, three pieces of fried chicken, and mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. For dessert: your choice of boysenberry pie or boysenberry sherbet. Many other dishes are also available including grilled chicken, salads, and a number of appetizers.     We had Sloppy Khan appetizer. Wow such wonderful spices! Malai (cheese) naan was freshly baked and so scrumptious. Chicken Karahi for our main dish was amazing, full of flavor and just the right heat. Chocolate Samosa dessert was decadently yummy! We live in OC, but there are so many interesting things on the menu we want to try, we're coming back!

    We have been to Summit House a couple times before but this time was our favorite. Daisy was amazing and our Castle cut prime rib was outstanding. We sat at the bar before we went to our table and enjoyed our drinks. We had so much fun before we ate that we went back and enjoyed another drink before we left. The two bartenders were fantastic and their cocktails that they were making were top notch! We had such a wonderful experience we will definitely be back sooner than later.

    We traveled from San Antonio and Corpus Christi Texas so Mom could have Mrs. Knott's chicken dinner. This is what Mom asked for her 90th birthday dinner...how could we refuse? It was as delicious as she remembered from her last visit over 25 years ago. We are so full...we have leftover chicken and had to take our pie to-go. Mom enjoyed her rhubarb and we all enjoyed the chicken, rolls with boysenbery preserves, and the cabbage. Great meal! Pleasant staff and great service!
