Restaurants near Ali'i Drive

We have been to Kona many times, but this was the first time at Jackie Rey’s. We decided to go for our 45th wedding anniversary. We were greeted warmly by the hostess who wished us happy anniversary and placed a shell Lai around our necks. Our table was fine, but the restaurant is basically on a main road and our view was the parking lot, you can see the ocean but wires restrict the view. Our waitress was busy, but attentive, pleasant and efficient. Our food and drinks were as ordered and served in a timely manner. We shared a Mediterranean salad, very good, my husband had a fish dish, he said it was excellent. I was disappointed by my steak, it was quite tough, but very flavourful. We shared a complimentary gelato, coconut and chocolate chip, really good. Meal was a bit overpriced imo, but it’s Hawaii and everything is overpriced.

Excellent Italian style dining. Interesting menu choices. The sound level is greatly improved over the last restaurant located there. The decor is delightful. Server was charming and knowledgeable.

The papaya boat was delicious and just the right amount of food. Service was excellent and our waitress, Jackie, was so kind not to bother us even though we were there for three hours catching up on each other's lives. We were right by the ocean and the ocean was a little loud but a wonderful sound.

Food was sensational - my partner said his steak was the best he'd had in years, service was great
