- HHanzLos Angeles •1 review5.0Dined todayHigh quality food and service. Reasonable prices. A great mixture of traditional Filipino food with contemporary American flair. You can tell that there was a lot of effort made into creating the menu. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu.More infoAbacáPrice: Expensive• Filipino• North Beach•4.7
- JJanetIndiana •1 review5.0Dined 1 day agoAlthough we had reservations, there was still a wait, (on a Sunday afternoon) but we enjoyed sitting at the bar with a lovely Bloody Mary during the wait time. We eventually were seated at a corner table in the upstairs bar, which was fine. Food, as always, was delicious and service was attentive without being intrusive. Definitely worth the wait and cost, which is in-line with other fine dining around the Bay.More infoScoma's Fisherman's WharfPrice: Expensive• Seafood• North Beach•4.7
- AArleneSan Francisco Bay Area •4 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoTo begin, we had complementary a potato and cauliflower soup. Then, we ordered the 3- and 4-course dinners: lobster salad & lobster and seafood risotto to start, the branzino, the lamb and the scallops as mains and the chestnut pavlova and chocolate souffle for dessert. We enjoyed every course, but I especially like the mains. The scallops, which came with spaghetti squash were cooked perfectly and had a lovely buttery texture. The branzino had a crispy skin, and I liked the sauce so much that I finished it by using my bread to wipe it up. The lamb with polenta was tender and flavorful. At the end, we were also presented with a plate of confections and pumpkin muffins with cream cheese filling, with we've saved for breakfast. The only one that didn't hit the mark for us was the complementary small bowl of potato and cauliflower soup with a dollop of orange gellé(?) in the center. The flavor was so mild that I basically tasted the orange. Overall, everything was beautifully plated and delicious, and service was superb. Definitely go there at least once in your life!More infoGary DankoPrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary French / American• Fisherman's Wharf•4.8
- PPatriciaSan Francisco Bay Area •9 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoI brought my husband to Blue Mermaid for his birthday. I did not realize that my reservation was also during the Happy Hour time, but the restaurant, which we love and have frequented (including for Christmas 2022) was still quiet before the beginning of a big NFL game (it is January 2025). Great server, friendly staff, and lots of good options for fish nibbles. The restaurant has tables and booths, and we had a quiet booth. My husband loves Fish & Chips, and Blue Mermaid has a great crispy coat on their version of the dish, and brought out some malt vinegar for the chips. He tried a Lagunitas beer I had not seen on many menus and Blue Mermaid has a good selection of Mocktails for the designated driver or non-alcohol drinkers in your party. The restaurant is in a beautiful hotel called "The Argonaut" in SF's Fisherman's Wharf, close to the Aquatic Park, and we took a walk in the area both before and after dinner. We are local to the SF Bay Area so I hope to come back to Blue Mermaid, maybe as part of a "staycation" at the Argonaut and try their breakfast offerings. Or come back for one of the weekend brunches. Great local choice.More infoBlue MermaidPrice: Expensive• Seafood• Fisherman's Wharf•4.2
