Since 2012, Fonda La Catrina has been serving up Mexican comfort food and drink with quality ingredients and lots of love. We are a Mexico City style restaurant and bar located in the heart of the lively and loud Georgetown neighborhood in Seattle. Handmade tortillas, chips, salsas, tacos, braised puerco in salsa verde, tamales, mole de Poblano; all made in house by our talented team in the kitchen. The house made ethos extends to our bar as well. Agave spirits rule with fresh juices, infusions and seasonal fruits that inspire our bar team weekly. Tex-Mex cuisine began in the Rio Grande Valley before migrating up to San Antonio during the l860's where a group of women known as The Chili Queens' began to pop up in the city's plazas selling chili con carne with tamales, enchiladas, and chili verde. They incorporated cumin into their dishes favored by settlers from theCanary lslands, which still has a strong influence on Mexican food in Texas. Tex-Mex also loves beef, flour tortillas, yellow cheese, fajitas and more.Our inspiration comes from the many classic Tex-Mex restaurants including Sylvia's Enchilada Kitchen, Papasito's, Ninfa's, Blue Goose, Hugo's, Herrerra's Cafe, Chuy's, Valentina's Tex-Mex and many more. An understated storefront hides a coveted skyline view—just one of the many ways you could underestimate this longtime cafe on Mount Baker’s main drag. The menu, the sign—even the name—are a bit of a throwback, but current owners Guy Devillier and David Hoefer took over in 2018 and keep things attuned to today. Carbonara packs more nuance than you might expect, the slightly crackly pizza’s better than it has to be, and the bar pours lambrusco and negroni. No wonder tables are loaded with a diversity of diners.

    Highly recommend Musang for its food and ambiance. Every dish was delicious and creative. The only downside was parking which is, of course, not the fault of the restaurant. Just give time to find street parking. Definitely would go back again!

    JAK says always delivered on the food the service and the ambience. The waiter was extremely helpful,, courteous and very quick about taking our orders and delivering what we requested. I was even visited by the manager. If you haven’t eaten there, you’ve missed an experience. Their steaks are incredibly good, I think better than Ruth’s Chris steakhouse. It is a West Seattle jewel and we frequent it often.

    My spouse and I celebrate all our special occasions at That’s Amore, birthdays, anniversaries, other celebrations. We love the owners and staff as well as the food and beautiful city view. The food is prepared with care and every bite is delicious!

    The Chophouse themed dinner was simply amazing! The Waldorf Salad - so simplistic but one of the best salad courses I may have ever eaten. And the baked potato cart - I splurged for the black truffle add-on. I may never eat a baked potato again because I know it’ll never be this good. Once again all of the staff were so friendly and accommodating to all of my questions. I truly love the laid back atmosphere - hard to believe as always this gem is hidden in White Center.
