iSLAS means Islands, a Filipino restaurant located in Parkdale, Toronto. The name “iSLAS” represents the 7,641 islands that make up the Philippines. Filipino cuisine is a blend of Austronesian, Malay, Chinese, Spanish, American, and indigenous influences. The flavors are a combination of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy. Vinegar is a common ingredient, and dishes like Adobo are popular. Rice is a staple and is served with various meat, fish, stew, soup, and vegetable dishes. Filipino meals are communal and informal, and traditional meals include breakfast, lunch, dinner, and meriénda (afternoon snack).     Great flavours and great ambiance. The cod and braised beef dishes were our favourites. We also enjoyed the slaw. The octopus carpaccio was very spicy; maybe too much. We devoured the molten chocolate cake, which was one of the best. The dessert sampler of all-time favourites was also enjoyable and a nice mix of flavours The portion sizes were better than expected. One of the most memorable meals we’ve had in years. Would definitely come back.

    Aera is one of my favourite restaurants to celebrate anything. It was my boyfriend’s birthday and I brought him to celebrate. The food is AMAZING! I ordered the rigatoni and he ordered the stuffed chicken with a side of mash potatoes. The portions are amazing you will definitely leave feeling full! The restaurant has a stunning view over the city, and it is an amazing place to take cute photos. Staff is really sweet, and definitely makes you feel welcomed. The prices are reasonable and you won’t break the bank to eat luxury.

    Love this restaurant. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The food is delicious. Great list of cocktails and mocktails. Best part is, during dinner, diners (and staff) can participate in karaoke right at their table. Makes for a really fun and unique experience. Different diners from opposite ends of the restaurant would partake in a duet..Had a great time! Oh, and the desserts were amazing
