In 1998, Buddy Guindon, his wife Katie, and his brother Kenny opened Katie's Seafood Market in Galveston, Texas. For more than 20 years now, Katie's Seafood Market has provided the highest quality of products available to its customers. The majority of seafood comes from local fishermen and shrimpers, including Red Snapper, Grouper, Golden Tile Fish, Flounder, Oysters, Shrimp, and Blue Crabs. A producer contacted Guindon in the hopes of doing a reality show about his family business. In 2015, the reality show 'Big Fish Texas' came to life on National Geographic. As a supporter of the local economy, In September of 2019, Buddy opened Katie’s Seafood House, next to the market. Katie’s seafood market supplies the restaurant with all fresh seafood. Amazing dinner experience last night for us and a couple friends that were there for the first time. Like us, they enjoyed everything as well. My flounder entree was delicious as were the extra crispy brussel sprouts. The music was lovely, the service was stellar from the manager, Cole, to our server, Olga. We highly recommend this place.

At in main inside dining area, very nice and would be a great date night location. Saturday lunch special was 99 cent cocktails (4 options limit of 3 per person). Deviled eggs appetizer was wonderful. Fries green tomato with crab meat was also wonderful.

The crab cake appetizer is amazing. I made it my entree with their fabulous au gratin potatoes. My husband enjoyed an 8 oz. steak filet, asparagus and a huge wedge salad. Food was exceptional. Service from Richard was great. Ask for a seat by the window. Don’t forget to share their warm pecan crumble dessert with vanilla ice cream.

Brunch was wonderful. Most of had the Eggs Benedict which was seasoned well. Espresso martini was unique with a coffee run and iris cream. The atmosphere was upscale but comfortable.
