Since welcoming its first guests in 1773, The Red Lion Inn has earned a reputation for outstanding food and genuine country hospitality. Dining at The Old Inn on the Green is an extraordinary experience: fine wine, great food, attentive, knowledgeable service and the dining rooms illuminated only by candle light. Chef and Owner Peter Platt, along with his team, work to create innovative and memorable meals that are an event unto themselves. Currently, we are offering a $85 prix fixe menu with 5-6 choices per course every night we are open. The hours for dinner are Wednesday through Sunday 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm for both indoors and in an all new screened outdoor room. The wine list is graced with an array of thoughtfully selected estate bottled wines from France, California, Italy and around the world.     The Red Lion Inn is iconic. Quintessential New England and always a joy to visit. Our lunch today did not disappoint. All tasty and well presented. The portions are modest for the price but leaves room for dessert. Apple pie, warmed Camabert and chocolate mousse were not only beautiful to look at it but mouth watering delicious. The Service was excellent! A must go to, if you’ve never been. And if you have, go back!

    Another exceptional experience at The Barn. My husband's 75th birthday and his Black Russian drink was delicious. For food, we ordered a calamari appetizer, Scottish salmon, and rib-eye steak. Everything was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented, A special eggnog rice pudding was offered as a dessert option, we shared it, and it was complimentary. Service was attentive. We will be returning to The Barn--they have kept their quality and service at a high standard.

    We visited for a late lunch. We both had the salad special of the day and added seared salmon. It was delicious. The salmon was cooked perfectly. Andrea, our waitress was wonderful - the perfect combination of professional and friendly. Josie’s Table is a great go-to spot for a nice meal!

    The service and food were great. The live piano music was amazing as well. The only thing was that there was a large gathering in the bar area that was really loud and disruptive to the diners in the restaurant area. Otherwise, it was a great time.
