Restaurants near Comfort Suites Smyrna

Four of us attended Geist on Valentine’s Day for dinner. We were seated in the outside area which has a beautiful ambience but the evening was quite cold so we wore our winter coats throughout the dinner. The outside area has two fireplaces and one standup propane heater but it was still cold. Perhaps they could procure one or two more heaters? The service was fantastic and the fixed menu excellent. Three of us ordered the scallops starter and the filet mignon main. Excellent! One of us ordered the salmon which he said was very good. The dessert menu was limited to two items which were good. Maybe next year they could add a chocolate dessert option? Geist is excellent and we would definitely go back. Considering how very busy the restaurant was, the service and kitchen staff delivered! Great job!

My wife and I both ordered pork chops for our lunch entrées. I am not one who usually orders pork chops at a steakhouse, but I must say this was perhaps the best pork chop I have ever eaten. Wonderful flavor and about 3 inches thick. Outstanding. The fried asparagus tips were also outstanding. Cheesecake with white chocolate topping was also exceptional. One thing that did take us aback when our check arrived was the house red wine that we ordered cost more than our entrées! $25 for a 7 ounce glass of wine? I’m sorry, but that is just out and out price gouging. We could buy a whole bottle of modest wine for $25. Again the meal was great as usual, but had we known that two glasses of house wine would cost $50 there’s no way we would have ordered that. We will know better next time.

The food was great and the service was great too! They weren’t aware that they took reservations, so that was a little awkward, but thankfully they weren’t busy and were able to seat us quickly.

Sad this was our last meal here. Robert is an incredibly talented chef. Avery and Katy are lovely. The food and service were always spot on. We were lucky to have found such a special place. So sorry to know the doors are closing and we can’t come back.

I don’t believe that making a reservation here means you actually have a reservation. Somehow by a miracle a large table walked out due to slow service and we were able to snatch their table for our group. The food was good and the outdoor area is great for kids. Hope they get more help and can make it.
