Judith is a new American tavern pairing warm hospitality and the cooking of James Beard Nominated Chef Julia Sullivan (Henrietta Red in Nashville) located in the quiet area of Sewanee, TN near the University of the South. The name is an homage to Judith Ward Lineback, the first woman to matriculate into the University in 1969.As Sullivan’s first solo project, Judith will feature a seasonal menu of creative and approachable dishes including a selection of small, shareable plates perfect for the bar crowd. Our experience was excellent! A very nice, pleasant restaurant with just the right amount of upscale atmosphere for a special evening out. The food is delicious, and the staff were friendly and top notch. Note, there is parking for the restaurant above it that they will validate.

This was my second visit, and we sat at the bar this time. We arrived early, and it was pretty empty, but by 7:15, it was packed with happy diners! We had oysters, trout rillette, leafy greens, whole trout, and mushrooms escabeche. All DELICIOUS!!! Had the tagliatelle last time we were here, and it was also spectacular. Decor is tasteful and modern. Cocktails are interesting and yummy. We had the parenthesis cocktail. Ingredients and dishes are unique and high quality, so prices are kind of high for the area. But totally worth the splurge!
