Abacá is an airy, atelier-style restaurant with a cool outdoor terrace, whipping up Filipino-Californian cuisine with flair in Fisherman's Wharf. It's the bricks-and-mortar spin off of chef Francis Ang's pop-up Pinoy Heritage. The lively menu is split up into barbecue sticks, noodles and rice, and small to big plates, but its far more nuanced than just that. Smoked Bay scallops lead in the seafood pancit, heirloom tomatoes top homemade tinapay bread, chicken skin is glazed in an adobe before hitting the grill and guinea fowl comes slathered with peanut sauce.     GD is not only one of San Francisco's best restaurants, it is one of the best values in the Bay area. You have the option of choosing a 3, 4 or 5 course meal for $122+, &150+ or $170+. And the portions are generous! The variety of appetizers, meat and seafood options is impressive. It's hard to select a favorite but you must try the risotto with lobster, the salmon and the duck breast... and finish the meal with souffle! Thank you, Gary Danko.

    Overall and as always , it’s a one of my favorite establishments to visit when I’m SFO. Dinner was outstanding! This time around our waitress was very polite and professional but a little slow. It took her some time to come in and ask for our drink orders, and the same for our appetizers and our dinner. After dinner I asked for coffee and my colleague asked for a desert and coffee. Unfortunately slow again , coffee was like warm and she did not ever come by to offer a second cup. I will be back as I know this is one off! Thank you
