Consistently excellent, this East Village gem is known for innovation and excellence in Roman cuisine. While Chef Salvatore Corea creates a seasonal menu, partners Alessandro Peluso and Giusto Priola note that Cacio e Pepe remains faithful to its signature namesake dish: home-made pasta brought to your table and spun in a wheel of pecorino cheese, then dusted with a flourish of pepper. Voted a ‘Critic’s Pick’ by New York Magazine, Cacio e Pepe is celebrated by reviewers as a classic Italian restaurant with a sense of style: A 50-seat garden is set behind the main dining room, there is al-fresco dining out front, and waiters with superior wine knowledge help you select the perfect beverage accompaniment to your meal. The mystery remains whether it is the garden, the cuisine, or the service which lifts Cacio e Pepe above and beyond its peers on the NYC restaurant scene. The answer, however, may best be expressed in French: It has that je ne se qua.

We are two lads who moved here from the same little village in the heart of Ireland over 10 years ago. "The Laurels" was the name given to the local football field where we grew up; where fun was had, experiences shared and memories made. We hope "The Laurels" NYC-version can offer our customers the same!

Orient Express Cocktail Bar in West Village. The Orient Express may have inspired iconic novels and films like From Russia with Love, served as the setting for bravado characters like James Bond, and been featured as the backdrop of Agatha Christie's most famous works, but the famed vintage train continues to ride through modern culture with its latest stop in NYC's West Village, where Turks and Frogs owner Osman Cakir has re-conceptualized its famous voyages into a posh, time-reversing cocktail bar with a flair for the spirits of yesteryear. Its look reflects the nostalgia of train travel: Amid the sexy amber glow, warm vintage-tinted beech wood panels, faux windows and bronzed luggage racks, the bar—a handcrafted Caesar Stone beauty—is the clear focal point. Above it, the ceiling curvesto each side, and behind, bartenders bedecked in old-school vests and neckties shake andpour cocktails.

This is an immaculate restaurant and wine bar! The vibes are excellent for date night or girly dinners. It’s a super small restaurant but the great music and ambient lighting adds to the cozy atmosphere. Had to call to make a reservation for 6 people on a Saturday night and even though our table wasn’t ready, the servers Diego and Andy made sure we were taken care of and treated us to some wine! The pasta portions are big enough to split so 4 girls split 2 pastas + the burrata with prosciutto while the 2 GF girlies each got the octopus. Our pastas were DEVINE and so tasty (carbonara and bucatini amatriciana) but our friends said the grilled octopus was too chewy?? took like a million bites to get down apparently lol. Finished the night off strong with PANNACOTTA and even though I’m usually a tiramisu girl I would come back just for that.
