“Mojo,” pronounced “mo-ho,” which means “Caribbean garlic sauce” in Spanish, is a citrus and garlic marinade and dipping sauce that is the foundation of many traditional Cuban dishes. Our menu is a nod to that tradition with a dash of modern expression to keep it fun and fresh. Mojo features an authentic line-up of traditional Cuban comforts like ropa vieja, empanadas, fried yuca, mojo chicken, and the quintessential Cuban sandwich. At our indoor/outdoor bar, guests will find an impressive array of rums designed both for sipping and for anchoring traditional cocktails all prepared against the backdrop of a regionally inspired soundtrack intentionally curated to accompany the shaking and stirring. Selections include Mojitos, Cuba Libres, Pina Coladas, and, of course, Daquiris, precisely the way Ernest Hemingway prescribed. Developed and helmed by a team of industry veterans, Mojo is a true collaboration of both local and national talent.

We mill AZ grown grain in house, daily. We focus on whole animal butchery, done in house. We have an extensive fermentation program. We recently moved to Tucson (like a week ago) and rather than try to cook a turkey dinner for Thanksgiving, we opted for making reservations. The reviews for Sullivan’s were good, so we made a reservation for late afternoon (3:30 pm). We had a cocktail in the bar before dinner (very well stocked and friendly staff) and selected the Thanksgiving holiday meal. The appetizer course came quickly and after twenty minutes or so a food runner brought our dessert. The waiter, Bruce, quickly whisked them back to the kitchen. After another twenty minutes or so, after seeing tables who arrived after us being served entrees, I asked Bruce if dinner would be coming soon. He condescendingly said “we have four dining rooms full of people so the kitchen is a bit busy right now but I submitted your order as soon as the appetizers were brought out”. Luckily, he must have mentioned it to Matthew, the manager on duty that day. Matthew arrived and said there had been a computer issue and our dinners had been affected (so, it wasn’t just the busy day that had caused the delay, Bruce). Matthew made us feel welcome at Sullivan’s and saved the experience for us. For the rest of the meal, Bruce was even chillier than before. He was clearly not having a good day but Matthew was. Matthew is why I’m giving a five Star rating and while we will be back for steaks next month.

The four of us had a variety of dishes. Flemming Salad, Burrata / Prosciutto appetizer (fabulous) Ceasar Salad. For dinner - Petite Filet Mignon, Seared Scallops, Miso Glazed Chilean Sea Bass and the North Atlantic Lobster Tails. I had a glass of A to Z Wineworks Pinot Noir (very nice). The four of us split two deserts - a Carrot Cake and a Creme Burlee. Great food, great service, excellent setting - but I forgot to take out a 2nd mortgage on my house.

Wonderful dinner for two on a Tuesday evening. We came rather early, but by the time we left, all the tables were full and the waitstaff was efficiently handling the crowd. My guest marveled at the fact that there were so many people dining on a random Tuesday evening. We both enjoyed our choices and dessert. The wines (recommended by our waiter) were excellent and my guest enjoyed a liquid tiramisu after dinner.
